MEET THE DEVELOPERS
Coach Jon Adams- Director of Skill Development
Jon played his college basketball at Belmont-Abbey College, and followed that with his first coaching job at Bishop McGuinness High School. Jon coached there for five years working as the JV Head Coach and Assistant Coach to Varsity. He then coached at Wake Forsyth for five years as Assistant Varsity Coach. He has developed and worked with players at the highest level. He is a coach at Point Guard college and a coach at Nike Elite 100. He is currently the Head Coach of Team CP3. He has also worked with LeBron James as a coach at their Elite basketball camps
Michael Russell- Lead Developer
Born and raised in Winston Salem, NC. Class of 2001 at R.J.Reynolds High School. Starting PG on Back to Back 4A State Championship teams. (2000, 2001)
Started volunteer coaching at various youth leagues at age 22. Begin coaching in high school in 2007. Since then, coached every level from 9th Grade boys, JV Boys/Girls, as well as varsity boys and girls. (Reagan, RJR, West Forsyth, Mt Tabor, Parkland)
Co Founded and coached Team Winston AAU Basketball in 2009. While coaching age groups 14u-17u from 2009-2017, helped 50+ kids fulfill their goal of playing collegiate basketball.
Worked and volunteered at numerous youth camps including CP3 and Wake Forest Basketball Camp.
Currently 14u Head Coach for Team CP3 AAU Program.
From Midland, MI Spencer attended HH Dow High School where the Detroit Free Press named him All-State as a senior with averages of 23, 5 and 5. He then played basketball at Wake Forest University as a Walk-On. Earning his BA in Communication while also attaining a Masters in Sports Law. After college he attended multiple tryouts for NBA D-League Teams and played well enough to earn a contract to be eligible for the D-League draft. Although Spencer went un-drafted, he subsequently was able to play basketball in Colombia, Dubai and Japan. Spencer has experience training all skill levels of players from professionals to just beginners. He also holds the World Record for Most NBA Three-Pointers in One-Minute with One Ball and One Rebounder!
Jazmine Charles- Developer
A native of Lexington, NC. She played varsity women’s basketball for Central Davidson High School. Played collegiate basketball for Lenoir-Rhyne University (Hickory, NC) where she was a four year starter. (2011-2015) She achieved many accolades there: 1st Team All-Conference, South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year, and WBCA All-American. She obtained two undergraduate degrees in Broadcasting & Electronic Media and Public Relations. She then played overseas in Essex, United Kingdom. (2015-2016) She played for the University of Essex and the National League team Essex Blades. She led her team to the National League Championship and won MVP and received her Master’s degree in Marketing. 2016-2017 she was an assistant coach at Catawba College for the women’s basketball team. She joined CP3 team of June 2017 as a developer.
Coached at WS Prep and with Team CP3. He has been involved with all of the CP3 Basketball Camps.
A native of Mt. Airy, NC Tega is in his second year as a developer at CP3 Basketball Academy. A 4-year letterman in High School as well as local youth coach. Carter has coached at various schools in the triad including the following: Glenn High School, Bishop McGuinness, Oak Ridge Military Academy, Lexington High School, Kiser Middle, Mineral Springs Middle and several AAU organizations (Greensboro Warriors, Triad Titans and NC Warriors). Carter graduated from UNC-Greensboro with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Sport Science and holds a Masters in Educational Leadership from Queen’s University.
Currently coaches NC Warriors AAU program.

Micah Joyner- Developer
Micah Joyner is from Winston-Salem, NC. Played Varsity basketball in Alexandria, VA at Thomas Edison High School. He was part of a team that was state qualifying his junior year. Micah coached kids throughout the summers of college in Virginia. He has spent time scouting basketball players to go overseas. He has been around basketball his whole life. Micah states ” I just want to motivate young basketball players as much as I can so they can get to where they want to be.”
Jerran Foster- Developer
A native of Winston Salem, Jerran played at Winston Salem Prep Academy in High school.

Erika Fender- Developer
Erika was born and raised in Burnsville NC. She played basketball for 14 years and started varsity 4 years consecutively at Mountain Heritage High School. During her career she was named all state, all conference and all western 4 years in a row. Named Best in the West 3 years consecutively. NC Preps and associated press all state Junior year. Conference tournament MVP junior and senior year. Named all regional in state playoffs junior year, played in Blue and white all star game senior year.. Ended high school career holding the school record for most steals(330),scored over 1200 points,131 3-pointers made, 332 assists and 300 rebounds.. after high school Erika attended the University of North Carolina at Pembroke where she earned her degree in Exercise sports science with a concentration in exercise physiology. After college Erika attained certification in personal training through the National Academy of Sports Medicine(NASM) before joining the CP3 Basketball Academy in December of 2017.

Dave Sorensen- Developer
David Sorensen grew up in Winston Salem, NC. He played basketball at West Forsyth High School and backed up Chris Paul. For the last 6 years David has worked as a personal trainer in the Winston-Salem area helping athletes try to achieve fitness and sports goals. I’ve worked with several current NCAA athletes.
Cory Dumas- Developer
Coach Cory M. Dumas is driven, focused, and experienced in the field of sports fitness and wellness management with a proven track record in organizational management and team building to achieve a combination of educational and athletic goals for children and young adults. Highly skilled in strategic development of student-focused programming. A personable and motivating individual that operates with a great degree of professionalism and personal integrity. Interacts with students, parents, and staff with dedication to their fitness and educational development goals. He is currently teaching sports medicine and advanced physical fitness at the Middle College of UNCG. Coach Dumas was a four sport athlete (basketball, football, soccer, and track) at High Point Andrews. He later attended North Carolina A&T State University to play basketball, however, his playing career was cut short due to two ACL tears. He graduated in 2005 with a degree majoring in Exercise Sports Science. Upon graduation he obtained a position with the City of High Point as a Senior Lead Director in the parks and recreation department from 2006-2015. During his tenure he mentored inner city youth, performed volunteer work with the visually impaired residents of High Point, created programs for the youth as well as the adult population, served as a venue manager of cycling with Special Olympics of North Carolina, as well as the head of the annual midnight basketball program.
In 2011 Coach Dumas joined the coaching staff at Calvary Baptist Day School as an assistant men’s varsity basketball coach. In 2014 he became the Head men’s J.V. Coach and still serves as an assistant to the varsity team as well. His Team finished with a record of 20-4 and a Conference record of 16-0 for the 2015-16 season. In 2012 Coach Dumas became the head coach of the Men’s 17U Triad Defenders Basketball Organization. After one year as head coach he led the team to a second place finish in the North Carolina USSSA state championship. In 2015 and 2016 Coach Dumas’ team won the NC State USSSA 17U Men’s Basketball State Championship. In 2017 his team finished runner-up.
LaShanta Johnson- Developer
Born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC Class of 2000 at Glenn High School. Starting small forward 1997-
2000. Granted the Mary Garner Award in 2000. Awarded annually to the state’s top-ranked women’s basketball player.
3-time Piedmont Triad Conference Player of the year.
Only player in schools history to score over 2,000 points.
Played collegiate basketball for Daytona Beach Community College (JUCO) 2000-2002.
Accolades while at DBCC: 1st player in the schools history to have scored Scored 1,000+ points. Led DBCC to two Conference championships (2000-2001). Second round in State Championship (2001).
Tabbed the 5th best junior college guard and 25th best junior college player in the nation by the All Star Girls Report.
Played collegiate basketball at UNC Charlotte (2002-2004). Conference USA: Conference Champions. NIT
second round (2002-2003) First Round NCAA Tournament (2003-2004).
